Entity

Entities are the basic building blocks for storing data in Home Assistant. An entity represents a sensor, actuator, or function in Home Assistant. Entities are used to monitor physical properties or control other entities. An entity is usually part of a device or service. Entities have states.

An example of an entity could be the temperature value from a thermometer. Each entity also has its history and configuration options depending on the type.

You can find a list of all entities in your Home Assistant via Settings -> Devices & Services.
